This week, representatives of Canadian companies are visiting Poland to participate in the Trade and Investment Mission focused on sustainable cities.
During the mission, the companies are meeting with representatives from Polish and Ukrainian cities, local authorities, public utility companies, and key industry players.
A key event of the mission was the Smart City Conference, held on Tuesday at the Canadian Embassy in Warsaw. The conference focused on the sustainable transformation of cities, financing innovative solutions for local governments, investments in green transformation, and the needs of cities in the context of sustainable development.
The conference also featured two panel discussions, which addressed the priorities and challenges of the digital transformation of cities and discussed strategies necessary to achieve climate neutrality. Experts presented modern technologies supporting the development of cities and emphasized the crucial role of cooperation with municipal utility companies. They also highlighted the importance of educating the public about the benefits of implementing innovations, which is essential for overcoming concerns related to changes.

During the event, Canadian companies also presented their innovative solutions supporting the development of smart and sustainable cities. These included systems for data collection and analysis, safety monitoring, implementing circular economy practices, improving energy efficiency, and building automation.
The trade mission is organized by the Canadian Embassy in Poland in cooperation with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), the Canadian-Polish Business Association (CPBA), and the Institute of Innovation and Responsible Development (INNOWO).
